Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
WATCH THIS, seriously
First time I’ve ever had respect for a CNN reporter (Y)
I said I was gonna write about this, I no longer feel the need to, just listen to Hiba XP
+on a point that Mona makes, I also live in Saudi Arabia and no covering your face is NOT the law, &if you’re non-Muslim you don’t have to cover your hair but you do have to wear an abaya (robe/cloak like thing) Furthermore this point has no merit since Saudi Arabia doesn’t claim to be a “free, democratic, Western” society like France does. (OH LOL, I didn’t have to say this, the reporter did)OMG she (Mona) says BANNING what a Muslim women WANTS to wear is PROTECTING her rights. Maybe I’m moronic, but that makes NO sense to me -_-
My GOD!! Mona srlsy who gave u the right to be a “specialist” on Muslims rights?? or Arabs rights?? And u need some serious “making sense” lessons if u r going to debate cuz u don’t have any!! another point is, talking about what U- as Mona- believe is right is not a valid arguement nor a debate method.
That been said, I have to say something since I’m a Saudi woman living in Saudi Arabia… No one is forcing anyone. The Niqab here is more like a social code and/or a personal additional choice- while the Hijab is mandatory in Islam.. You can check the Quran- where Mona claims has no laws of Hijab- Verse No. 59 Chapter 33: “O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient”
(when abroad)means when they leave their homes to a place where men can see her.
I personally chose to don both; the hijab and niqab. I do cover my face and don’t feel it limits me or that I vanish into thin air like Mona claims. It’s rather liberating for the same reasons propsed by Heba.
Final Note:
Mona keeps getting on my nerves. Can’t she just stop talking to western media in my name as an Arab and a Muslim cuz she’s sucking at it BIG TIME.
